Ophelia's grandmother hates the Metaxis family because one of them jilted her mother at the altar for another woman. So what better revenge than to hold the estate over her granddaughter's head by forcing her to marry Lysander Metaxis at the risk of losing everything? There are conditions, though: Lysander isn't allowed to develop it and the two of them must stay married for one year.
This is pretty typical Harlequin Presents fare. The hero is an alpha jerk who actually uses the phrase "asserting his marital rights." That said, I'm a SUCKER for forced/arranged marriages, and I thought it was refreshing that the heroine points out-- multiple times-- what a hypocritical prig he is and how disgusting it is that he keeps a stable of OWs and refuses to answer any questions about them, even referring to his wife (her) as his "most expensive" mistress of all.
WOW.
I was entertained by this one but it didn't really wow me and I didn't particularly care for the art style. All those big, puffy lips... not really my thing. It looks like someone went a little crazy with a lip filler needle.
