Great Queer Speeches: LGBTQ+ voices that inspire and empower by Tea Uglow

As the title promises, this is a fantastic collection of speeches from the LGBT+ and their allies. I was really impressed by the inclusivity and intersectionality of the collection, as it seems like the editor went out of their way to curate a broad variety of voices from all over the world, representing more than just the first four letters. My two favorite speeches were probably the ones from Harvey Milk and Sylvia Rivera, because they had the most emotional impact on me, but their is also one from a mother speaking in support of her trans daughter, and one from an HIV+ woman talking about how AIDS is a human issue and not, you know, a curse or a stigma or punishment.

Overall, this is an incredibly powerful and inspiring collection, which would be a great educational tool, or a resource to give to those who are interested in speech writing or activism. The illustrations were absolutely wonderful.

Thanks to the publisher for sending me a copy in exchange for an honest review!
