Not Since Carrie: Forty Years of Broadway Musical Flops byy Ken Mandelbaum

Like the other critical reviewers of this book, I thought it was pretty badly organized. It felt like a pretty dialed in work. Maybe in the hands of someone else, for whom this was a passion project, it could have been really good. As it was, it felt as dry and condensed as a loosely bound collection of Wikipedia entries. I did laugh at the section about Rockabye Hamlet and the song "He Took It in the Ear," but apart from that, the book played fast and loose with my entertainment. Some things just shouldn't be musicals (I'm looking at you, Lolita, My Love-- ugh).
